You need to have the pump inlet below the bottom of the tank, otherwise you will starve the pump.

that makes sense lol. does it matter what way the pump is?

if not i can just flip it over so the inlet is the same hight as the tank outlet.

Also make sure the spray nozzle is mounted somewhere in the intake tract that is higher than the tank/pump so it doesn't drain when your not spraying.

Has the short block been shipped yet?

ok i flipped the pump and the inlet is the same high as the tank outlet now.

i think it ships out this week.

got it all switched around and it works great now, i can pull the hose out of the pump and it drains the tank empty.
