Was dialing in the clutch tonight. 99% of builders don't do this and in all honestly isn't absolutely necessary unless you are trying to trouble shoot a clutch problem. I made a special tool so that I can test the clutch springs. I have some Barnett springs and Factory Suzuki springs so I got curious. Results are as follows:

New Factory Suzuki springs came in at about 40 lbs. at clutch lock up. So with 6 stockers, you'd get about 240 lbs. of clamp load on the clutch pack.

Barnett springs are showing about 46 lbs. at clutch lock up. So with 6 Barnetts, you'd get about 276 lbs. of clamp load on the clutch pack. So the Barnetts provide a nice 15% increase in clamp load, at the cost of a slightly stiffer lever pull.

One thing I did notice was that the stock springs are longer than the Barnetts. So the stockers provide a lower spring rate. I haven't run this by the owner yet, but if you wanted to, you could probably shim the stock springs up to get the 15% extra clamp load, but without the stiffer lever pull due to the decreased rate. Probably isn't a big deal, but I like data........

You could also alternate the springs and use 3 Barnetts and 3 stockers for a total clamp load of 258 lbs. which would provide a slight increase in clamp load by about 7.5%.

We will really have to just wait and see if this thing is going to be hard on clutches to figure out what the best combo is gonna be.

Also, the owner of the bike was talking to the lead R&D guy at Bill's Pipes, Jeff (who is actually Bill's son) and they are gonna spec a pipe and silencer for us since we added a little displacement. Requested a pipe for mid and top performance. Braaaap Braaap!

I highly doubt you would make enough power on a stock cylinder that you would overpower a stock clutch and cause slip.

If you want to use the heavier springs but dont want a stiffer clutch, just get an ez pull clutch lever....

It's not that the clutch won't hold the power, but due to the nature of riding style required with a bike like this (basically you keep your right hand buried in the throttle and control power delivery with the clutch) this issue that I would be concerned with is longevity/dependability.

Seen the Rekluse stuff before (bad *** no doubt for monster power drag bikes). Never seen the other one before but it looks expensive and I'm sure the owner is on a budget. lol
