Yeah it definitely does not have both wired. Just low speed pin and 2 relays. I see that PCM of NC has a kit that uses 3 relays for using both pin locations and a kit with 2 relays for single pin location. Mine is setup like the 2 relay kit. Maybe because my current fans aren't dual speed?

Edit: the truck never ran hot or got anywhere close to it before using the exact same harness so I never worried about. Was just looking at the wiring for the new fans is why I even noticed it.

The "single pin" harness typically use the PCM for low speed operation and either a thermostat or AC Clutch engagement for the second pin for high speed. Or if its a true single pin, the fans are either 0% or 100%. The newer PCMs (02+) can use the AC pressure instead of clutch engagement and so the PCM has full control over the fans with low speed and high speed. Even fancier the gen4 computers can control them more finely than that (instead of 0% - 50% - 100%) to whatever % they want based on coolant temp and other things. This is more complicated but gives more control.

The 3 relay mode is typical and has the fans in series for 6v each in low speed mode, and in parallel for 12v each in high speed mode. Fans are just electric motors, they spin at whatever speed the voltage being given to them dictates. More voltage = spin faster. Same way the Boost A Pump things work, by upping the voltage to the fuel pump from 12v to 18v they spin the pump faster and get more flow out of it.

That's cool about using a/c pressure and controlling the fans but I wonder if mine is wired up for that and if not what the wiring pinout is.

I found this patch info for the fans

Yea that just looks like a repository for fan settings, nothing special. Not really a patch. Fan settings can be changed however you want. If you have a pressure sensor on the AC line between the compressor and the condenser then you can use that function, otherwise it would be based on AC clutch engagement or request.

What harness do you have again?

Dont suppose they gave you a wiring diagram with it? Worst case you can use a standalone harness, but I bet theirs can be modified to be 2 pin.

Dunno how I missed this but no wiring diagram. I've just been tracing or using a multimeter. Ill wore up the new fans that way though. The new ones are only supposed a total of 18amps and flow almost double the CFM as the Spal ones that drew 43amps total. Which is all good because I'm adding a good bit of draw with all the extra stuff I have going on the truck. This alternator is 170amp which is slightly better than OEM.

Wegner Automotive is starting on my custom engraved valve covers. I believe we settled on engraving them and then anodize them so that's subtle and doesn't jump out so much.

Big thank you to Wegner Motorsports for making my dream come true. These valve covers are works of art. The picture doesn't do them justice. The effect the engraving has makes it look like the logo is jumping out at you

The AEM V2 kit , extra nozzle, and filter arrived. I like the intergrated MAP sensor and new style fluid level sensor. The nozzles even have internal check valves so no need for a solenoid. The tank basically takes up the last bit of real estate in the engine bay.

Those covers look really nice, i bet they are even nicer in person. I would love a set done for mine but i have no room at all to go taller with gen1 brake booster in the way.
