Got the shift kit installed. Trans is done for now. Got the engine down to a short block. Had abnormal wear on the cam bearing and timing chain was pretty loose. Needs new cam bearings at least. But might go forged 370...

Post a pic of the cam bearings. GM hones the bearings at the factory and leaves them looking abnormal. That might be what you are seeing

Yea I was alarmed when I saw my #1 cam bearing. A lot of copper showing, but supposedly normal

I can feel some wear one the top of the bearing as well.

It does appear that there are some scratches there. Are those the ones you can feel? But that copper appearance is supposedly normal.

The other ones I can feel are at 300-360 degrees. I was surprised when I got it apart since it only had 60k on it.
