Talking the new DD project 2011 RAM1500

The X-Runner is gone

Traded it on a:

2011 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Big Horn/Crew Cab 2wd, seats 6 (4 fullsize, 2 mini's), 5.7L, 545RFE 5SPD AUTO, 3.21 rear gears, 20" Wheels, Sirius.

Truck weighs 4890lbs
Just completed an 80mile mixed driving loop and that bitch recorded 22.3 mpg and turns 1700rpm @ 75mph!! (That's just ridiculous)

Color is: Brown Pearl (looks spectacular in the sun!)

(I'll get better pics tomorrow in the sun with a decent camera)

First Mod = locking rear tonneau cover!!

that is all

That is a sick looking rear end on that red truck.

The mpg sounds awesome, with good mods and tuning it may even see 25 mpg.

What are plans/ goals for this one?

Leaving this one mostly stock; it's pretty peppy as it sits (was kinda surprised actually)

I'd like a 13sec timeslip

Hope to hear more on the new Ram. I'll be in the market soon and debating between a new Sierra and Ram. Test drove a ram express a few weeks ago and was really impressed. Though I'll be looking at ECSB or Quad Cabs.

So far I'm really happy with the purchase. I prefer a nicely spaced 5spd over 6+ speeds, especially with an engine that has this much grunt....although 2012's get the 6 spd (I think more prefer that anyway)
The cabin is waaaaaay quieter at highway speeds than my HD is or XRunner was (again a surprise because I've read so many less then stellar reports on the rams interior quality)
One thing I don't like is the position of the throttle body......but that's just an aesthetic preference.

No tuning yet. Mike from Diablo brought this up I think on the Diablosport forum. That was a error on the magazines part. The only tuning right now for 2011 is from BG tuning and thats because they use the same software that Dodges uses at the factory.

hey brother, I wasn't expecting to like this truck as much as I do.......but damn it's nice. And it's really friggin nice to have a regular painted frame instead of that wax coating stuff.

Other then that, there's certain things I like better on the Chevy, and certain things I like better on the Dodge.....mostly a wash.

Dude, I'm already impressed with the 5.7 bone stock........whatever they did to that engine.......works! Now it's just icing on the "Hemi Cake" (was that gay?)

Hahaa, it does have some good power for being stock. My truck averages 17.3 on the highway but it's running pig rich right now. I'm hoping for 365 to the wheels with a custom tune. I will say I love the economy of the cylinder deactivation but I hate the sound and light feeling from it. It will probley go with the custom tune.....and maybe a 100shot
