1) I just undid the fill then drain plug let it all drain out.
2) Then cleaned off the magnetic drain plug.
3) Installed drain plug
4) Added fluid until it started to come out the fill port
5) Then installed fill plug

I used Redline 5w-30 full synthetic oil
Also used a 17mm hex head socket I purchased on the mighty Amazon!

What I noticed is that the old fluid was pretty burnt and had a fair amount of metallic shavings on the magnet. Also it seemed to quite the trans down a fair bit. the noise it makes isn't so much a whine like a throw out bearing but more of like a rattle its hard to explain it is seeming to get quiter or maybe working around jets is making my hearing fade more rapidly. It still shifts great way better then old s10 ranger or tacoma. But eventually swap in a ZF6 because indestructible!

Yes GM1687 that probably is why my diff looks like that

But its ok when it breaks always just upgrade!

Ordered tires yesterday and will be ordering wheels in the next 2 weeks or so cant wait!

So about 6 weeks ago I was going up an on ramp and gave it probably 70% thottle in second and heard a pop and lost power. Put it in 4H and limped it off the highway to the only dealer in 15 miles Ford -_- so here I am 6 weeks later still driving a loaner. I thought my ring and pinion went but it was much worse. Also had a broken leaf. Luckily My waranty covered an entire remanufactured axle from hub to hub! heres some damage pics. Its also took out my new G2 aluminium diff cover so im looking for another probably going with a girdle.

Havent done much recently saving to move down to good ole DFW and get away from the cold. But I did get my rearend replaced from hub to hub under warranty. Also I never liked the K&N intake that came on the truck it was the aluminum/chrome one and had terrible heat soak. Somtimes I would notice my IAT 30* above outside temp. So with some spare 3in ABS I had laying around I built a better tube and also removed this pointless metal tray from under where the filter sits so colder air will hopefully reach it better.

Only realy difference Inotice when driving it is that it seems idle down much faster on start up. With the old tube it seemed to try and idle at 1200 for a good 2-5mins apon start. Also my IATs are only a couple degrees from outside temp like 3-5 so I am satisfied.

It is kind of ugly I might buy some exhaust heat wrap and practice on the intake tube to pretty it up.

be careful how close your upper rad hose gets to the intake, I had a pvc one identical to yours and with the hose about 1/4 inch away it began to melt and deform.

I noticed that, I originally never had the 60* elbow in the middle wanted it to have the straightest flow as possible. But it worked out good had one laying around and its got about a quarter or half inch bettween the radiator hose and intake. I noticed on my K&N not sure if the previous owner installed it wrong or if they naturally rub the radiator hose but it rubbed the chrome clean off. Should also be getting my heat wrap tomorrow and with hopefully have a clean wrap done on it by dinner time and will post some pics.

I know theres no real performance gains from this but any cheap little projects to keep me busy until after I move and can afford a cam and turbo. Plus ive never wrapped anything so this will just be pratice for turbo manifolds

GM1697 Love the wheel and tire choice! Its nice to see someone with a high sitting 4x4 that still likes speed! When you gonna hit a track? and how do you like your cam?

Trying to hit the track sometime this month...

This summer I ran a 1/4 with my old heavy tire setup (305/65 r18), cam and tune, and ran a terrible 16 second flat.

Granted it was hot out and I was losing a ton of timing off the line due to high IAT.

Now with the converter and smaller tires I think I can shave maybe 1.5 sec off my 1/4 mile.

But all in all the cam and converter combo feel great, and I still get great mpg on the highway.

I'm glad I don't have to worry about a converter and trying to brake launch, Just hold RMPs dump the clutch and try not to forget to grin.... uhh..... bang second

What gears do you have 3.73s? with 4.10s on 32.8in tires I want even lower gears but pushing almost 3k at 80 on the highway is bad enough.

What was your 60ft?
