I know I have said this to you before, but more boost will make a world of difference here. It will really help your bottom end power most significantly. Thats where you will make up times with the new combo.

when you say you have gone back to 6 rib does that mean the balancer too?

No, it is just the belt and tensioner. I am getting a bracket made to clock the tensioner to get it away from the thermostat housing now. The idler bearings are all fixed up now with 17k rpm units that are silent so far.

This is the most boost this setup will make and i already need bigger injectors. MAF is reading over 80 lb/min of air at the top end.

Well i havent fixed the 8 rib drive yet, but i figured i would update with some changes that are happening. First thing is the rockers. Reading around i got a bit worried that the trunion upgrade may be something that would end up hurting the motor, so i took them out and swapped in a set of smith brothers bushings. Here is what the old one i pushed out looked like:

Not terrible, but at least i caught it before it got worse.

Next thing that i am working on is exhaust. My corsa sport had a great sound before the headers but now, i am tired of people describing my truck as only loud. So, i am trying to work up a 4 inch single that i can live with. I am buying 4 inch straight tube and a magnaflow over the axle section and am going to slide in these:
A pair of magnaflow pn 12772. 4 inch in/out and 30 inches long. There is plenty of room, so i am hopeful these can tame the volume.

Here it is all laid out in the garage. Obviously the front pipe gets cut down and welded to the y pipe, but this is pretty much what itll be.

Appreciate it! And not a problem I'm in no hurry, still have to wait to see what mine is going to sound like if I ever get my turbo kit to put it on and see how much change I get there first.

Looks great! My single magnaflow wasnt enough so I added a vibrant resonator. It helped a bit but I think its a bit to loud still.

What is the part number for the tail pipe section?

How many miles were on that trunion upgrade? I have seen a lot of that issue with them, thus my reason for running the Straub bushings.

I am also running a single 4" with Magnaflow mufflers, I really like the sound of mine.

The tailpipe section is pn 15463. The good thing is that it comes in 2 sections, so i could also try it dumped if i dont like the diesel pipe look.

Those trunions have about 10k on them. I notice that the bushings are actually a bit louder, but it is noce not to worry about metal going through the engine.
