Default 1990 454 rcsb drag truck build

Ive had a 90 350 for a couple years and decided to make it a drag truck.i put a stock bottom end 454 with 1969 396 heads and a 400 trans.
I ran this combo in a SS454 truck 12.0 on motor and 11.0 on a 150 shot at 4400lbs. Im hopeing that after removing a lot of weight and a much lighter truck it should run 11.50's on motor and 10.50's on spray.Alls i have left to start it is a new starter.I need a 3000 stall, gears and a spool.

I ask Shino to post some pictures for me.

I like how the new LS engines are so strong and perform so well with power adders,But theres nothing better looking than a big block under the hood.lol
They are old school for sure.Good luck at the track and let us know how you do.

no problem man. damn that sucks. starter should be easy to get for it though. you going to spray a 150 shot on it? i was telling my cousin with the 454 ss about this last night. trying to get him some inspiration to get his **** back on the road. he was going 13.0 on the TBI setup. he put a cam in it and it ran like **** because he couldnt get a good tune on it then it ate up the cam. threw in a new motor built a little bit and put a carb on also. ran strong up until about 4.5k and would fall on its face. would die at idle and all that. put 3 different carbs on still being a turd. now its been sitting for 4 years

Thats strange about your cousins truck, this makes the 6th 454 truck ive had and they all make power to about 5500 except a 502 I did went to 6000. Maybe the cam is bad.

Back to my truck,I put a new cheap starter in yesterday and click,so I put a jumper box on click I said what the heck is going on.
I shimmed it with 3 then 6 and click so I pulled the plugs turned the engine over I even unbolted the converter and still click.I kmow I should have bought a good starter but with 8.5 compression this should turn over fine.I guess its just a bad starter.
So know off with the header, take the starter back out and buy a better one this time. This truck has fought me every step off the way,I think it wanted a LS motor instead.lol and the clock is ticking for the track so Im not sure what ill spray it all depends on how it performs on motor..
