Got the rearends swapped today to include the Caltracs and my driveshaft from the wrecked truck. I still need to pull the motor/trans out of the wrecked chasis and switch them over.

Wow. Looking great. It looks a lot better than I thought it would. I may have missed it, but is your turbo stuff okay? Looks like the intercooler might be jacked up.

The intercooler survived, but most of the piping is shot, not sure how it survived but it did. The rest of the turbo kit was fine, the filter on the turbo was smashed, but the turbo was good. Sold that, since I have a 70mm to go back on it. When I get the engine/trans swapped, i will be bolting on a Trailblazer ss intake and nick williams 92mm throttlebody.

Pulled the turbo motor out of the crashed truck today, the frame was pushed up so bad I had to jack the cab up and back to get it out. Now I can have whats left hauled off to salvage, pick up the garage and start pulling the motor out of the GMC.

what do mean why not leave the 5.3 in it? The only truck with a 5.3 is my daily driver 07, that motor isnt getting pulled. The motors that are being pulled are 4.8s, one is modded from my turbo truck with low miles, and the other is a 2000 4.8 out of the gmc i bought for the cab/frontend and frame.

Sorry I misunderstood I thought the red GMC had a 5.3L in it as well. Got mixed up.

Well, truck is all back together and running. Just have it on a base tune now, 9lbs, 12 degrees timing, nothing crazy. im glad to have it done though, especially for what happened.
