Default 150 wet shot safe on stock 4.8

Hello,

I have a 2003 silverado RCSB 4x4 that is completely stock (automatic). I'm definetely going to be running nitrous on it I was just wondering if the motor will hold a 150 wet shot on a completely stock truck with just Tr6's. I know the transmission will take a **** and I am only gonna run it to shut some ricers up in town every once in a great while. Also, is it okay to not run a window switch (even though it will save the life of the tranny). I just want to make sure that it wont blow the motor if it sprays under 3k rpm. I have an 02 Camaro SS M6 with bolt ons, 12bolt/4.10s, T-rex, a tnt 150 wet shot but i have a window switch, and a walbro 255 intank pump. Is it okay to not have the window switch since its automatic. Im very new to modifying the truck because i put all of my money into my camaro. I'm just so sick of these ******** talking **** about my 10 second camaro saying its slow with their imports and im gonna beat them with my truck.

im gonna be hitting my 4.3L v6 vortec with a 125shot with a tune so i would assume you would be fine on a 150shot- but i would get a window switch just to be safe and A tune- then i bet you could rock them-

saw a video a while ago of a 4.8L with intake/exhaust and a 150shot vs. A stage II SRT-4 w/ toys and the 4.8L walked him from a roll- and spun them from a 40roll

it would hold, just fine but i would defintly get a window switch, its not good at all to spray in between shifts which is also what the wondow switch takes care of, you'll burn all your clutches and tranny as a whole, its definitly worth the extra $100 vs 1000 for a tranny. unless you wanna blow it then get an 4l80 then get the window. also you'll lose performance spraying pre-3k it will just bog so try to avoid that. but yes, your motor will hold

it will not bog if you spray before 3000rpm but it might blow up. i nearly burnt my truck to the ground by not having a window switch. one time i forgot the system was on and i floored it quickly from an idle and the nitrous/fuel hit. boom, fireball out the front of the truck and an under hood fire. get a window switch.

my truck was nearly stock with a 100shot and the tranny was sliping(mid gear).

I had a pretty much stock 4.8 at the time I tried nitrous. I wouldn't recommend spraying nitrous at anything other than WOT. If there isn't enough vacuum the fuel could puddle in the manifold and BOOM. Of course, if you don't have your head up your *** and know exactly what you're doing, you should be fine.

I've run a couple dozen bottles through my engine and tranny, without a window switch, and she's still running great. I do have a TransGo shift kit and Superior intermediate and overdrive servos in there. I know I should probably run a window switch but it's so much fun the way it is.

If you're going to do a 150 shot might I suggest an upgraded fuel system because when I tried spraying that much I got detonation. You'll know you're getting it because it has the same sound when you pour milk on a bowl of Rice Krispies. That's the only way I can describe the sound.
Hope this helps.
