Hello everyone !
I'm new to the forum and the world of truck performance. I'm in San Antonio, Texas.

I'm buying a 99 Silverado SWB with a blown 4.8 and will be swapping in a 6.0.
Can anyone give me some direction or help ?

Remove motor, install new motor. Pray the transmission will survive the 6.0 and of course tune it for the change. Use the 6.0 injectors, 1999 4.8 injectors are too small for the 6.0 as they are 21lb/hr compared to the 24-25lb/hr on the 6.0's.

Not really much to it.

Welcome to the forum. Motor swap shouldn't be too hard, but yeah that transmission won't like its life

And be sure to get an 01 to 06 with the 24x reluctor so you can use your box and wiring ... and avoid the iron head 99 - 2000 motor as the crankshaft is longer than 01 up and your transmission won't work.

Ended up going with a 5.3 just to get her up and running for now.

And this is my truck.

Truck looks good, welcome to the board. And the motor swap is a walk in the park, take out the old, put in the new
