Honda CX650 Custom Motorcycle for sale - Twisted V twin
Sold
I bought this bike as a project, not knowing what it was, but have moved on to another project.
I was considering making a bobber out of this bike, but I think it's too nice to cut up.
The bike didn't run and the brakes were locked up when I got it a couple of years ago. Previous owner put new tires on it just before he inherited a 1600 Kawasaki, so they have ~300 miles on them.
I have done the following:
Rebuilt the front caliper
Rebuilt front master cylinder
Replaced front brake line with stainless braided
Installed new starter motor brushes
checked valve clearance (was within spec)
Checked compression (~140 - 145)
Flushed radiator/cooling system
Replaced tach drive/ cam holder (ear that drives the tach was broken)
Replaced tach cable with new
Installed new mirrors
Repaired and cleaned leaky carbs
Installed new air filter
The good
The bike is complete and nearly stock as far as I can tell
It has gobs of torque and the rear will slip out from under you if you're not paying attention
The fan comes on and cycles as it should
Overall, it seems like a solid bike
I am listing it local for $1750, and will include a factory Honda service manual as well as any odd n ends I have for the bike.

Cold start after re-installing carbs. Since they were dry and the vacuum diaphram is still in place on the tank valve, it took a few tries to get her going.
I also have videos of compression checks, if anyone is interested.
