Question Suggestions for my 2001 S10 4x4

I just recently acquired a "new to me" 2001 S10 Crew Cab 4x4. It has the 4.3 and 121k on the odometer. Was wanting to squeeze some performance out of the motor or at least as much as possible and just looking for suggestions as to the best mods are for these motors. Truck is going to be my daily driver and will pull a pop up tent camper during hunting season (currently in Afghanistan and wife back home bought it for me). From all the pictures of the truck I have seen it appears to be completely stock (I use to own a 2001 4 door blazer but never wanted to mod). I was looking into maybe headers and catted y along with a magnaflow catback and a cai set up. Also read a few things about a tb mod but would rather not cut up my blade. Looking to hear from the expert truck guys for any advice. Also, swapping a cam or what not is also a possibility as I can do it all myself. Also, I've been over on LS1Tech for years and this is my first appearance here. Thanks for the help guys.

to be honest, unless you plan to do a v8 swap or some kind of forced induction i would leave it alone and enjoy it. maybe a set of gears if it has oversized tires. the 4.3 doesnt respond much to the minor mods.

Are those set up like the ZR2's? I thought a V8 swap in those was a nightmare.

I'd just put a intake, tune and gears in it.

Not interested in doing a V8 swap as I want to keep the engine and drivetrain as orginal to the truck as possible. I would be very interested in putting a super charger on it if they make a kit specific to my truck. It would need to just simply be a bolt up kit though. I don't want to hack my truck up. Would this engine respond well to something like 4-6 psi? It has the stock size wheels and tires. Thanks for the information guys, I really appreciate it.
