I can wire a stock 5.3 harness to work,but it places the PCM on the drivers side.

IMO is much cleaner & less hassle.

do it yourself and be proud of what you did. I did this swap before cpw was around. the wiring for these engines is the same from 99-02 the only difference between dbc and dbw at the pcm is dbc uses the iac and tps the dbw uses serial data lines to the tach module. there are plenty of people who have built their own harness over on s10forum.com there are some that have pretty good write ups on what they have done.

We did one a while back the guy who did it now works for spike the harnes we used was fairly cheap I think we paid like 500 for harness and headers from same pg mine had ace everything looked liked it belonged ....ill see if I can find where he ordered the parts from
