Awesome stuff there...that's how it all started with me! now it's a sickness

Awesome truck man! I just sat here and read all 41 pages. I am about to start my own 5.3/Sonoma build. I will be taking alot of things from you build and copying them. I do have a question though, how did you end up liking the radiator? I just cant see paying $840 for a radiator/fan combo. Did the radiator from engineered cooling fit somewhat close to stock with just a little trimming maybe? Sorry to dig up an old thread.

I am happy with the radiator and fan setup I have on the truck. It never got hot or even close to hot setting in traffic in 90* heat. BTW that was the warmest I have logged. If you want to have a cheaper truck that only needs a trans or trans rebuild...I might have the truck for you. Just a thought. PM me if you you are interested in that. If you have anymore questions on my build or need help don't be afraid to ask.

Haha, Man I'd love to take that truck off your hands but I'll be in way too deep with my wife if I buy it. I'd better just build mine slowly, that way the money leaves slowly. Its the same way I had to build my duramax, that way she doesn't notice as much! Great truck though, I'm sure I'll have more questions along the way.

dig up my s10 build. I think my s10 radiator was ECP and around $400 and included electric fans. links are in the thread. there are detailed pics on how I installed it too

2 Years ago I took my truck to the track after I got it together and running on a conservative tune. It made 4 passes, each pass getting faster, but I could only run the best of 12.99 @106 with a sad 1.91 60'. After I got the truck home it sat for about 2 weeks and I decided to drive it to my wife's prenatal appointment for my youngest son. I got on the highway and it shifted 1,2,3 but then nothing. It would shift into OD but it was like it was in neutral. I limped it home and parked it. It sat for 2 years until last month with only being started twice and the battery charged once. I have now decided I am tired of it sitting around and not being used. I bought a 650HP rebuild kit for my 4L60E and also an upgraded input shaft with the suntrax upgraded drum. It should hold more HP than I will throw at it for a long time. I also felt the converter was too tight for my setup. I got with yank and we decided on an ss4000 for the truck and since I was upgrading I decided to install an SFI rated flexplate in place of the stocker. I have also upgraded a few small things like the air intake, trans cross-member, some fittings and some other random things. I also picked up some 26" tall drag radials to run in place of my 28" tall drag radials.

I have a race locked in with a good buddy in his 406sbc camaro. He has been 12.3 @110 with a 1.80 60'
The challengers car...

I got it back together and just got the break in miles on the converter. I will be updating this as time goes on.

Here is a pic of the truck and some of the parts.

Some nitrous would have loosened that converter up. Probably cheaper too!
