Bringing this back from the dead slightly. Ordered my cam yesterday, and I've got this beast torn down to the block almost. Just need the crank and cam shafts out and then she'll be sent in to be honed and then reasembled for my peace of mind. Went with a variant of the triple 12 from stock48 that has a bit more of a lope to it. Next I'll order a rebuild kit, then I just need a rad and fan as well as the wiring and she'll be getting dropped into the chevy.

It looks like there is something that needs attention in that motor. I would pull it down to the block and check it out. Wit the size of those metal shavings I would think that it would stand out like a sore thumb. It looks like rod barring material to me, but I'm not 100%. Did the junkyard say anything about it having rod knock?
