Motors built. Was very little buildup and sludge in it which i was real happy about. the truck it came from had motor pulled day after it was wrecked and was at my shop the following day so it didnt sit for long. There was a decent amount of slack in timing chain which had me worried tell i installed the 15k mile one out of my last motor to find out it had just the same, so im guessing that was normal. Ton of coating work tomm, so I'm not able to work on it tell tomm night. Parts for manifold will be here tomorrow. Ill be fabbing that up tomorrow night with pics to follow! Hoping we will have motor in and running by Thursday afternoon.

ill have some more pics and videos up tomorrow or this weekend sometime. when routing the oil return out of the way it touched the starter wire and grounded out putting a hole in it so ill have to cut that and put a new end on it today and reinstall it. getting loose ends and repainting the wheels this weekend because they were chipping a little also.

OK, so after a weekend FULL of problems we finally got the truck up and running. Motor went together good and my helper put it in and did the majority of the work to get it up and running. We went to start the thing and it cranked for a long while with no start unless we had throttle half way down and when it did it missed on ALL of bank 2.

We spent well over 18 hrs this weekend on the harness, o2 sensor motor, coils, injectors and what not trying to narrow down my problem with no luck. truck was slow to start and was only running on bank 1. All of bank two was misfiring. We checked for spark, injector pulse, compression, leak down, switched coils around, switched injectors around ect and had no luck. The motor didnt change its missing when we unplug coils or injectors on that side yet they are all working properly and all had good spark. If we unplugged anything on bank 1 it does as it should and cuts motor off or runs rougher. Fuel pressure was set at 58 on my aeromotive fpr and the filter is clean. We went through all of BP Automotives swap harness and everything was good and pinned correctly as well as had power where it needed to be and ground where it needed to be also. The 3 engine grounds from the harness were good as well and the ones from motor to frame. So needless to say we were all frustrated and out of ideas. Monday morning i remembered my mechanic at my shop has a smoke machine tester so we hooked that up and a ton of smoke was coming from the throttle body gasket. Pulled the throttle body only to see it was on backwards and not letting any air get to the IAC. So we switched the throttle body gasket around and what do you know it cranks and starts pretty normal and runs without any throttle at idle. It is still pig rich at idle and you can smell it but at least it runs. Tomorrow im starting my front mount log manifold build on the extra motor we have on the stand as well as taking the truck out for a little cruise around the area. Either tomorrow night or this weekend im having a buddy of mine that tuned the truck with the blower and my old ls1 notchback mustang i had 5 or 6 years ago (before the ls1 mustang craze started) take a look at the base tune thats in it and adjust it some so its able to drive for 50 or so miles to get and find any bugs it has out of it before the dyno tune next week hopefully.

As promised heres pics!

Forgot to mention i fried an alternator that was on the truck because it was wired with the new harness to get 12volt+ when they only need 5v. I kept wondering why i had to toss a new battery in it every 2 hrs of getting it running and that was why. I ended up putting a 470ohm resister inline with the 1 wire to the alternator plug and that brought it down to the needed 5 volts. I should of known because the same thing happened with my ls1 mustang years ago and about 4 other friends i hang out with ls1 mustangs also. But you live and learn i guess

Looks good man ,very clean. Will your factory hood latch fit ? I mounted my intercooler last weekend and it doesnt look like the latch setup will work . Might just do hood pins but id rather not
