Default Header swap question

Hey guys I am planning on building up my 02 Blazer xtreme... lq4 block with ls3/l92 head. I have been trying to find out if there actually are headers specifically for D port heads??? also that would fit s10 frame. Has anyone heard of anything like this or will standard LSX header swaps work??

Most that I know are running your standard LSx swap headers on a l92 head. BRP is probably going to be your best bet. I think they have a few different options to choose from. If you can find a set of used CPW headers(as Jared no longer makes them) they fit nicely inside the frame.

1 3/4 should be fine for your application. here's one of many similar threads: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...xperience.html

Thanks dude but im rethinking my plans... i got the itch real bad to get working on the swap so im thinking bout building up the block and using stock milled heads to bring the compression up.... but i still think 1 3/4 will still work well

The in the frame long tubes from brp/hedman fit great...I bought them uncoated from jegs so that I could weld them together as one piece. Since they are designed in several pieces...I bolted them together and placed them inside the frame before putting the motor and transmission in as one piece (which you usually have to jack up the cab in order to do so) and was able to install them that way so I know they can be welded together and not have to worry with them leaking. I plan to get them coated afterwards so that's why I bought the uncoated ones...just a thought

The stainless works headers should be the ticket. Have to wait till they have them done, but their headers won't require you to run a special crossmember, and, there stainless!

Development of these headers will be tough, the tolerance and clearance are tight, but we will have the best fitting S-10 LS Swap header available and YES they will be American Made 304L stainless.
