Default Stay away from Gilbert at ACE racing transmissions

Very long story here, but I'll make it as painless as possible. Spent $4700 on a built 4L80E. We're nearly a year out and still no transmission. Got two sob stories about why it was taking so long. Come November, cant get a hold of Gilbert by either text, email, or phone call. Finally called from my wife's phone and actually got a reply. Big surprise when I told him it was me. Got a song and dance about how he's about to get corporate financing to rebuild his business. He agreed to keep me in the loop. Nearly two months later, he has returned none of my calls or texts. Save your money and buy elsewhere.

Damn, sorry to hear that. I'd be contacting a lawyer and finding out what the next step would be

Thats' unfortunate to hear. He worked on mine a few years ago and seemed very knowledgeable but very busy. I hope it works out for you.

That is indeed unfortunate. I was about to contact him to build be a 80e a few weeks back so might have dodged a bullet

No sir. I've been warning everyone possible as well as reporting him to the BBB. At this point, it's a loss. I can't afford a lawyer to take him on.

Sad situation. I had a hard time getting my trans from Gilbert, luckily I paid him with a credit card. The account that my card company was going to pull the funds from belonged to his business partner that Gilbert had just screwed out of $6k. Made me sick to watch Gilbert on his Facebook page racing every weekend and letting his business go. He may very well be one of the best in the business but never again will he get my business and I'll warn anyone I can about him.
