Default Raptor Question

I am a big Mopar guy, but I appreciate all makes/models esp trucks. So here is my question, now b4 ya'll laugh, hear me out. I am a big fan of the SVt Raptor....however me personally I would lower it, slap on some 16s and drs, debadge it, and drive it like a reg F-150. My question has any1 actually done this yet, and have they run one? I have long considered getting a Lightning, but may grab a Raptor as a new project truck. What are ya;lls thoughts, would it be worth it?

due to the suspension differences, I would start with a two-squealer and do the raptor front sheet metal swap, included some graphics and then look for some interior swap parts VS starting with a raptor

all the photo shopped lowered Raptors I think it would be awsome

I would start with a regular F-150 with their 6.2 and get the front end of a Raptor if all you are after is the looks personally

your gonna pay a serious premium for all the suspension and other "raptor" badges on that thing.

buy yourself a 6.2 f150 and put whatever raptor parts you want on it. will be much cheaper to add the parts you want rather than remove the parts you don't want. that suspension was in no way designed to be lowered..

I was told that the only way to get a 6.2 powerd F-150 was to get the Platinum Edition with the 50k price tag....that true? havent seen a reg cab 6.2 yet.

Thats true, the only 6.2's I see at work are Raptors or Platinum's (or the super duty's)

edit - I take that back you can get a 6.2 in XLT and up as an option, but no reg cabs.

I guess GM is not the only ones making it hard to buy their best engine.

It's so easy for both of them, just gotta grab a RCSB, stick a 6.2L in it, then they've got the fastest available truck on the market with no extra cost or development.

Yeah I am looking for my next project...I love my Mopar but I appreciate everything. If I can find a reg can with that engine combo its a done deal for me

Starting in 2013 you could get the 6.2 in a XLT if you wanted it. I have a 6.2 powered FX4. It's an impressive truck even with just a canned SCT tune...... but then again I drove another 6.2 F150 in the exact configuration of the one I own now which was also brand new and it was a dog.... so watch out I guess.

It was only in the high trims for 2011 and 2012.

There is no regular cab to date unless it's a Super Duty with a 6.2 in it. So you will be looking for that for a very very long time, lol.

All I have done to mine is a MBRP 3.5" exhaust ( getting it powder coated so it's not on yet) and a tune plus some form of traction bars as it wheel hops badly. It has no problem burning the back tires for about 20' at a 20 mph roll. It runs hard for what it is. My next step is a set of stainless works long tubes with their catless Y pipe and then that's probably it. There isn't the aftermarket for that engine like you get with LS's.... or even Fords own 5.0. It's a truck engine in a limited market. I mean yeah there are thousands of base model Super Duty's with their version of it under the hood but that doesn't honestly much matter. Cams are limited because any amount of lift and you are smacking valves on pistons. Heads flow very good... much like an L92 head really.

I didn't buy mine to really race it.... it's just a driver.
