I put a PT7475 rear mount on a SRT8 Jeep - PICS + VIDS
Long story short, last year I helped my older brother mock up and install rear twin turbos on his srt8 jeep. He was very very close to finishing it and pulled out. A couple things I didn't agree on with his ideas and decisions he made but whatever. He removed all the piping, fmic, BAP, oil pump, lines, turbos, wiring...etc and returned the jeep back to stock. We went to VMP for the hemi shootout and hung out with all the big turbo jeep guys from NYC and the south. Cool crowd and nasty jeeps. The one dude named Jim, drove his 1000awhp jeep from NYC to VA. Think it went like a 9.7 at 145... The red 2wd one all over youtube doing 300 foot wheelies was there. Stage 6 was there. all and all a great crowd and fun weekend. anyway
Fast fwd to Monday night, he emails me " I told a friend of mine you could install a turbo on his jeep." OK... I never met his friend, have no idea what turbo(s), what he already has, what he still needs, parts...etc. I run over to the dudes house Monday night to meet the guy and see what he has. bunch of misc pipes, new precision 76 turbo, tial BOV and WG, misc parts. I tell the dude I cant work on it until sat around 2pm because of school. He asks if he can drop it off Friday night and pick it up Sunday... After making a plan about the jeep I see a new BMW 1000r bike. Supposed to be the fastest production bike made, So i worked in the deal, I do this for you, you give me one race my car against his bike. =]. This should be a sweet vid.
So during the week I've been telling him what to buy ( couplers, fittings, gaskets, bolts, vacuum hose...) and do prep work like spraying his exhaust bolts with PB Blast. Wed after school I cleaned up the garage.
He is dropping it off in 2 hours when I get outta work and plans to drive it home Sunday afternoon. I'll keep you guys updated, this thing should fly with only 4-5 psi. Time to throw Pantera on Pandora and jam.

well this has been a bitch the whole way so far. All the stock exhaust bolts were rusted to hell and all the flanges were rusted together. so removing the stock exhaust took longer than i wanted but i got it all off and in perfect condition for the owner to keep.
merge pipe is on after mulitple test fits and hammering and grinding and cutting. the long straight section going from the merge to the axle was a pain too. the hangers didnt line up and the 3 inch flex joint isnt in a good spot. turbo is mounted and clocked. fmic is mounted. wide band wired. started laying out the cold pipes and it looks like hes missing a couple. i need to run up to the local store to get some shorter bolts to hold the turbo.
tomorrow i plan on final mount of turbo, mount oil return pump, oil feed and return lines, and finish up the cold side. mount wg, run vaccuum lines to bov and wg. mount vaccuum block. hobbs switch... basically i want to start it tomorrow. sunday will be for re torquing everything and any tweaks i need to get done.
im putting the 4 psi spring in the gate. should be a riot.

Well my goal to get it done sunday was a success. Everyting is done.
fired it up, let idle for a couple mins when im running around checking for leaks or problems. oil is dripping out the exhaust housing.. im guessing turbo seals.

The restrictor was the key to success. I buttoned up a couple things like extending the iat sensor wires and hooking up a Hobbs switch last night and sent him on his way.
Made 4 psi no prob then blew the intake hose off. We didn't have a 3.5 t clamp and a reg hose clamp didn't hold it. So I took it back home and re tightened the clamp. When back out and after a dozen wot pulls both the customer and I were happy.
It def needs a muffler, the dp is 14 inches long and open lol
The check valve I had over nighted did not flow the way I wanted it. I'm sending it back today and ordering another one. The owner will come back later so I can re torque everything and install the check valve.
The base boost tune ran high 9 afr. Once that is dialed back to mid/high 11s well put the 6 lb spring in.
Question now is what's a safe limit for this 10 w 60k miles? I told him 8 psi is about all I'd do. That should net him about 500 wheel.
