Default Narrowed Down to 2 cams

My buddy has an 02 Sierra with a 4.8 with bad lifter noise so he decided he's going to pull it apart and throw in a new cam, lifters, pushrods and springs. We're thinking one of these cams with around a 3000 stall and long tubes:

BTR TRUCK STAGE III CAM

Or

Summit Racing® LS Engine Custom Grinds, by COMP Cams SUMLSGT100 - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing

Which one do you guys think we should go with?

Any reason you aren't going to have one custom spec one for his application? Really isn't much more money and you have something for your application. IMO, the lift isn't high enough on either of those 2 cams

with stock heads and intake manifold you're not picking up hardly any power over .570ish lift. It might make 5 more peak hp. Power under the curve is what makes these trucks fast.

This is correct. The smaller tight lsa camshafts work really well in these trucks. We've done triple 12's on 108 lsa, and 215/215, .566/.566, 107 lsa that hit hard and make great tq. You are talking less than 300 CI here and even the stock cam would be happy with a 4400 rpm converter...
