My LQ4 427 build
Iron block
Ls3 heads 65cc chambers
Blower cam but I'm NA right now
90mm dbw tb
Holley hi ram
80lb deka
1 7/8 speed engineering header w/ their 3" dual x-pipe
Manley 10cc dish piston
11.4 compression
4.070 bore
4.100 stroke
C5r single roller w/ cloyes adj gear set straight up
Mighty Mouse catch can w/ pcv
4l80e hd2 kit
Hughes 3000 billet triple
It gets tuned on June 11th and I'm not sold on my cam combo, thinking I want something more NA friendly since it'll be a while till I go blower.
Why did I go with this build when every post I've read says to stay away from anything more than 4.000 stroke? Well it just kinda happened and parts fell my way plus it's my first LS build, yes that's right, my first performance engine build ever from the ground up. Took me about 2.5 years and a lot of reading.
Figure I'd start a post and document the build and see how long it lives.

That is sexy!
I saw the pics you posted in the SE true dual thread and the rear suspension looks awesome!! What kind of travel do you expect? Have you run the suspension before the motor?

The rear cycled 18" but I replaced the front hangers with lowering hangers. The deavers sat to high for my liking in the rear. I'm not sure what it will cycle now and I'm almost positive I'll need to C-Notch the frame to get full travel out of the rear.
Front is a camburg kit that should cycle 19" but I haven't cycled it yet. I'm focusing on the engine right now so that I can get it running decent before turning back to focus on the suspension.
Intended use of the truck is just an all around fun truck to use on the street and the sand out in Glamis CA. Probably some 1/4mi and drift events for fun and to make people go o.0
I just clicked over 100mi on it today, the transmission shifts at something ridiculously low - like 5600rpm so I haven't really been able to get a feel for it. It definitely has some bottom end but I have to get used to the stall on the converter. It's not bad, but I feel like its a little flat sometimes. I can't wait to get it on the rollers and street tuned as it is a wuss off idle and doesn't like to idle in gear. I can feel it come off low speed in gear idle at 3-4mph and it falls flat on torque.
