Default links to cam/heads install?.....write-up links?

im about to install a btr stg 2 cam, lpp headers/y-pipe, .030 milled 243's, and circle d hp 3000-3200 converter in my 2000 silverado rcsb 5.3.....could you guys point me towards some of the more popular install links.....do you use the f-body write-up on ls1howto?......i installed the cam in my 98 camaro using ls1howto, but there's no converter write-up and the 4l60e is a new venture for me.....this will also be my first time pulling heads......i already have all of the gaskets/bolts ready to go, just want to do a little bit of reading before i jump in

No big secrets on the head swap besides making sure you're using the 99-03 headbolts. Just be sure to keep it clean and be sure nothing falls in there while you've got the motor decapitated.

I assume you're doing an in-truck swap? I would suggest inspecting the cam bearings while you've got the top end off. If the cam bearings are badly worn the motor should come out because oil pressure could suffer. Also verify the new cam turns freely in the block by hand with no binding. You'll be pissed if you do the converter swap first and then find out the motor has to come out anyway.

I'd use a set of ARP bolts, because if you make a mistake torquing the stock bolts you're boned. Stock head bolts are one time use. With ARP you can retorque/remove as needed. Same goes for the balancer bolt.

Also use new lifter trays even if you're re-using the stock lifters, which I would not re-use lifters if truck has over 150K on it. Make sure the head gasket you're using doesn't overhang the chamber. The stock 5.3 gasket might overhang the 243 chamber, in which case you'll have to use LS1 bore size head gaskets.

Please check pushrod length with a checker. You've got the dimensions all changed due to milled heads and aftermarket cam. If the cam is on the stock base circle you'll need shorter pushrods. If the cam is on a small BC you'll need stock to longer pushrods. Measure it!

Degree the cam and use a good single-row chain/gears like the cloyes. If you change the oil pump, use the high pressure and not high volume.

10-4 on all of that....I am replacing the lifters with ls7's and ls2 trays....also grabbed a melling high pressure oil pump and ls2 chain.....I bought ls1 MLS head gaskets and ls1 stock head bolts....also grabbed brand new ac delco knock sensors with a dorman harness......the only thing I haven't bought yet is pushrods....from the research I've done, several people have went with similar setups on an lm7 and used 7.350 with 243's milled .030 and ls7 lifters.....I will measure though to make sure....

So are there any truck specific step by step write ups....ls1tech is littered with fbody write ups, I was hoping to find one for gmt800
