not the right choice IMO
maybe the 224R would be better in his case ground on a 114 LSA
it should really scream with the juice going to it!

I agree with this guy! A Texas-Speed 224R cam. specs are: 224/224 .581/.581 114lsa... Bad A$$ cam for that setup!

I was just checking out Comp's site, and those thumpr cams are for sbc's and bbc's, and are really intended just to sound tough, like something you'd put in a street rod. I didn't see anything there that indicated that they released those cams for the LS engines, but I might have missed it. But if they did release them for LS engines, I don't think it would be a very good cam choice. With that much duration and such a tight LSA, that cam has some major overlap, and engine vacuum will be very low and tailpipe emissions will be very high. I would think that tuning would be a nightmare also. Not a good choice IMO

I would def. say the TSP224R or the TR224 would be a better choice.

If he would get any of the cams stated above i would at least put a 3200 stall in to keep it in its power band pretty good.

I ran a 12.50 in a ext cab with my cam no stall and 150 shot I think the tr224 is to small imo maybe like a a 228/230 on 111 for him
He wants a nasty idle and a big cam he does more of track racing then on track racing
