This is my truck is a 06 silverado with all oem parts from a Intimidator SS. I want to do the 6.0 4l80 and 14 bolt 9.5" 33 spline 6 lug axle with the D1 procharger not trying to brake any records just want a clean set up that will work all together. I don't want to bore/port my engine maybe just the 317 heads . Im planning on just rebuild the engine and paint the block gm orange or black get some ARP main studs and heads studs a Melling high volume oil pump, boost cam, double springs rockers lifters Pushrods.

Rebuild the tranny with a circle D 3600 stall and if I get the 14 bolt axel live the 373 . I will do the fuel upgrade when I get my procharger later on for know I just want to do the engine since I have it out and transmission.

Thumbs up

That's a really nice truck, looks almost too nice to drive. Should be a strong runner with your planned mods.

You search for all threads started by Blown06 there are a ton of threads that documented my trials. The first major milestone for me was running 10.90's at 4550 lbs with an out of the box D1sc kit using the stock 6 rib ****, stock tensioner, stock diameter balancer and a 4" blower pulley. This was also done with a single 255 intank pump and factory returnless fuel system.

Then 10.40's with the upgrade to an 8 rib setup, bigger fuel system.

My truck eventually evolved into a track only setup. Still rocking the procharger though.

Like vortec350ss said above, Kurts truck (also a 2wd shortbed single cab) has run in the 10.40's as well I think around 4100 lbs with the House of Boost dedicated drive set up. You can check out some threads he has started as well.

Your truck should run 12's without any issue at all. Bottom 11's will take some work, but still should not be too much of an issue. Best advise I can give you is "blueprint" your blower drive set up, lots of gear and lots of converter.
how much gear and converter would you suggest for a setup like his?
you have done the procharger thing for some time so I am curious as to what kind of gear and converter setup you would suggest.

If you are talking about the OP, I'd really need to go back and look at some of the specifics.

But just as a general statement, a 4200lb - 4500lb 2wd rcsb street truck with a warmed up 5.3 or 6.0 with decent heads and a strong cam, a 4l80e trans running on a 28"-30" rear tire (slick or drag radial), basically all that typical ****.....

Also, my answer would really depend on the pulley setup, so for the sake of conversation let assume it is a very reliable 8-rib that doesn't slip spinning the D1sc somewhere in the neighborhood of 62,000 to 66,000 rpm.

For something that never sees any track use and gets driven daily, probably a 4.10 gear with a 3 disk lockup converter that would flash to around 2800-3000 rpm would probably be civil enough to enjoy in that capacity.

For something that goes to the track, ***** vettes up on the street and is only driven in fair weather to get *****.......I'd do a 4.30 to 4.56 gear (depending on trap speed) and a converter that would flash no less than 3600.......probably closer to 4000.......also with a 3 disk clutch pack.

Just got a deal on a 2003 4.8 Silverado with a procharger D1 my plans is to swap all the performance parts to my truck and all my stock parts to the donar truck like my 4.8 ,4l60,exhaust axel and fuel system.
This is some parts it came with.
motor is a 4.8 D1 Procharged has lots of accesarys built heavy duty 4L80 transmission with brand new 3600 circle D triple disk stall with good double panel transmission cooler
Intercooled custom pipes welded fabracated 50mm blow out valve
New electric fans
New eaton possi with 411 gears
440 walbro fuel pump with 80lb trickflow injectors
Full 3in magnaflow exhaust with stainless steel pacesetter headers
Meth injection cooler
Custom BOOSTCam with new set of custom dual springs
New head gaskets and waterpump
New MSD wiring and new sparkplugs aftermarket
Has a set of mickey thomphson band new radials with 15by10 bogarts
New pillar gages digital

Planning on using all the performance parts except the 4.8 I will use my lq4 6.0

What will be a good cam, springs, rods for this setup using my stock 317 heads?

I ran a 227/233 Lunati cam in my old D1 setup in the SSS. Stock bottom end LQ4 and stock 317 heads, LS9 head gaskets and ARP head bolts, TBSS intake and Throttle body. Ext Cab AWD full weight it ran 11.70 and had a lot more room to go had I upgraded the fuel system. I sold the truck before I got into any of that unfortunately. I used PAC 1218 springs and just the run of the mill TSP 7.4 hardened pushrods. Never could find and AWD dyno to strap it to but the truck ran fantastic till it ran out of fuel on the big end.

EDIT: I was also running a mildly rebuilt 80e with a PATC 3600 converter. SO very similar to what you're going to be running, youve just got a lot less weight and less traction than I did being single cab and 2wd.

Thanks for your input planning on going with a 224/230 cam I will ask my tuner if a 227/233 will make a difference.
