For the OP if it's just a weekend toy you could do either. I will when going the blower route next year, magnacharger 2.3l is screaming my name.

Just my opinion (almost worthless lol) but I would hump my PD blower if I could. What I lose in MPH at the track compared to turbo or centi is more than made up for by the drivability factor for me for a DD. Stock converter too and instant torque is like 500 cubes with the 5.3. It JUMPS with every blip of the gas. Now for a weekend warrior or a well thought out DD I still think nothing beats a turbo or Procharger and if you don't care about the "instant" factor, soon as it spools or spins it pulls like a freight train and doesn't stop....bye bye.

This is with no accessories obviously, but those tfs heads will support a lot more cam than he used, and there's tons better intake options than the ls2 intake he used. If that link doesn't work just google "499hp 5.3 pro touring 220/224 cam" and it'll pop up.
