Default 2008 GMC Sierra 5.3 Active Fuel Management mod ?'s

I'm looking at ordering a 08 GMC Sierra 5.3 RCSB with the 5.3 and had a few questions.

Have the tuning issues been worked out with the Active Fuel Management? I have seen a couple of these trucks with turbos and blowers now. Are they still useing the active fuel management or has it just been disabled? Is is possible to keep the AFM with ported heads/cam?

Thanks in advance. I'm sorry if these questions have allready been asked.

My AFM was turned off in the tuning. All the components are still there. I'm not sure about still using AFM with a new cam.

Thanks, I didn't figure you could get the active fuel management to work with a different cam. Do you know if the turbo and blower guys are turning it off also?
