2007 LQ4 Maint ?'s / Pulling heads
It's time to give the truck some luvin'. I've been pretty hard on her lately and she needs a little tlc. I've recently noticed while going over the truck (getting a list of what needs attention), that the drivers side rear exhaust manifold bolt has broken off in the head. So the plan is to pull the intake and heads so I can properly remove the exhaust manifold bolt. While I'm in there I plan on doing the knock sensors (still the stock sensors), new valve stem seals (just because it's cheap and gor good measure), possibly new lifters (they tick a little on cold mornings), and head gaskets and head bolts.
My question now is about the head gaskets. Is it worth the extra coin to go with the cometic .040" gaskets to gain a little compression? Or just go back with the stockers? If I do go with the cometic gaskets, will the added compression (I know it's not much at all) warrant a new tune for my truck?
One more question. What's a good spark plug to run with my setup? Just go back with stock plugs?
Thanks for taking a look guys.
