Default Whine at low speeds

Does anyone else notice a whine at low speeds? I notice mine has a faint whine below like 20mph in 1st and a bit in 2nd. Sounds like its coming from the trans. All seems normal just wasnt sure if anyone else noticed this.

My 2010 with the 5.3 does it to. I really dnt here it in 2nd if its loud outside. I barely here it at night when no cars are around and its quiet outside. I would keep a ear on it tho. If it get worse take it to the dealer.

I had it with my stock 80e but not my built one. Probably within normal limits.

My brothers Pontiac G8 with the 6l80e has what I would call a transmission whine in the first couple gears. Not sure I noticed the same thing in my dad's 10' silverado though.

The 6L80es have a different sound in the first couple of gears but you have to be listening pretty close to hear it. Whereas the 4L60E's were silent the 6L80 sounds like a TH400 in 1 and 2nd gear it's just they way there are designed

That's exactly what my buddy said the other day...

I had that noise in my 10 Z71 CC also, and in my 12 Z71 RCSB. It was less noticeable I think because both had the bridgestone A/T tires on them, and they're regular road noise cancled some of the trans noise out.

Still have it in my 14 2wd RCSB, and is a little louder with H/T tires.

I ordered my 11 and it came in in nov of 10. I drove it straight from the shop a hour to san Antonio and had discount put a set of Michelins on it instead of the bridgstone AT's. I never heard the trans on the way to SA but on the way back I spent a hour trying to figure out what I was hearing at low speed in traffic it was definitely the trans in 1-2 gear there was just enough road noise from the tires I never heard it.

Got back and went and grabbed a new denali awd truck radio HVAC off and it had the same exact noise I wrote it off and never paid anymore attention to it

The 6L80E internally is designed almost identical to a TH400 in it's mechanical function just with a few more gears added to it. And it makes almost the same sound in the lower gears as its older brother.
