Questions about lowering 14 Models

When you order a lift kit for a 2014 it asks you to specify between aluminum front end and steal. Basically a 4x4 is steal and the Z71 is aluminum. The only difference in the kit I see is that on the aluminum ones the is a .250" spacers that's goes between the upper ball joint nut and the spindle. I would assume that there will be something similar to this with a drop kit.
I am wanting to put the aluminum spindles on my 2wd rcsb but I haven't had time to test fit the ball joints.

So I've got a 2014 4x4 that I'm trying to lower 2/4. It has aluminum components.
McGaughys didn't think their 2wd spindles would work on my 4x4 so they sent me front drop strut spacers. Basically you cut off your stock spring perch on your strut and slide these on. Yuck.
I'd really like a drop spindle so I haven't installed any of this yet in hopes someone will put out a spindle. If anybody wants to me to do test fitting, I can do it quick and am a machinist so can give above average feedback.

You can use Belltech's lowering strut for 2". Based on the info provided I don't know if a spindle would be worth your time. I know Belltech will void the warranty if the spindle is machined. I wouldn't be able to accept the spindles back as a return if modified either.

That may be my High Country that you were referring to. It is a 4wd and I did piece together what I wanted. I have my Belltech 647 SP kit left over from my 13 crew cab that I was going to try the spindles from but honestly, I just haven't had a reason to try them yet. The route I took for mine has worked great for me, it aligned within spec, no driveline vibrations and drives/handles great. I've got over 3000 miles on it lowered with no complaints at all. I've checked everything over a few times and even after a few hard launches (or blowing the tires away in 2wd) everything seems to be fine.

They just reused parts from the 07-13 model. Currently we are experiencing better customer feedback on the Belltech kits.
Bumpsteer is better, alignment is better and overall ride quality is much better. No vibrations and the rear wheels are centered in wheel well.
