freon leak
has anyone else developed a serious freon leak suddenly?
it started to get warm last week, & I noticed my a/c had stopped working. I recharged the system and added dye. three days later, it's empty again. I haven't searched for the leak yet, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and where the leak was.

Same thing happened to my truck at 10k, theres a recall or tsb on the high pressure line and the brackets, they had to replace the whole thing on mine. Happened the first day it was actually hot outside to. Bummer that you're out of warranty.. just make sure you get the updated line and brackets so it doesn't happen again

So the leak recurred in the exact same spot at about 100k miles. Now I'm at 110k and have to add damn near 3 cans of freon a week, and nobody but the dealer has one available to order. **** that. I'll JB weld the bitch before i let my truck be the cash cow they indended again.

There is a local shop here that builds ac lines, etc that inhave used a few times to repair hard to find or outdated/obsolete parts.... Wondr if theres somewhere around you?
As far as your leak you should take it to a dealer and bitch, its a 14, you shouldnt have to put ac parts in it regardless of mileage, and if its a known problem theres probably a special policy or something on it..... Wouldnt hurt to check!

Get online and order from a salvage yard. Plenty of wrecked trucks!
