I just looked at Magnuson's website and they claim 415. Where are they getting that number? If the exact same truck with a car back only made 385 that's a pretty significant loss somewhere and not very honest marketing. But having personally seen one make more something doesn't seem right with the 385.

415 is a bit high, the tune they supply with it is only good for 390 max.

Good to know about pump

How high do you think you can go with this motor, seems highest anyone has gone is 10lbs. I assume your cam is making dynamic compression lower so its not as high as 11.x giving a little room for more blower. Also, are you doing anything with cam timing via pcm not just with a seperate cam?

We didn't run the Magnuson tune.

Yeah obviously, it was meant as a reference from a stock motor blower only starting point.

You have to take into account weather conditions, different dynos, elevation, etc. when comparing numbers like that. Not every dyno reads exactly the same until something in the vehicle is hurt. I've seen PD blower vehicles pick up 30rwhp just from a 40* colder day than their last dyno in the summer time. I wouldn't be so quick to jump on them for being "dishonest" when it's not a true A-B comparison.

There is definitely a limit to boost with the stock fuel system, direct injection, and high compression on this engine. 8.5psi is safe across the board for what we're doing, but not going any higher on boost until we add methanol. As far as compression goes, forced induction and high compression are no issue with DI. We have several C7's making 800+rwhp with over 11.5:1 compression. Cam timing all depends on how the camshaft is cut and what application it is being used for.

One last question i get some crazy high iats and bad heat soak with my setup, even in colder ambient temps. Is that an issue with this setup?

We have not had a chance to log IAT's at the track yet. We just did the WannaGOFAST 1/2 mile race, but all of our EFI Live boxes were being used. Hoping to have info on this very soon!

Well I was finally able to get some track time in on the new build. We attended the WannaGOFAST 1/2 mile event in Clayton, GA this past weekend and I was able to make two passes in the truck, both trapping at 125mph. The Stabilitrak system was coming on about half track and staying on through the end, so I'm sure that it was holding back the speed. I pulled the ABS fuse and was attempting one last pass when it started raining and forced the event to shut down.

Either way it was an absolute blast and testament to the truck's abilities. The only other trucks running were a 128mph modified Lightning, and another Silverado that was a NNBS CC with a 5.3, camshaft, headers, and D1SC on 10psi that ran 129mph.

I just received my methanol system today, and going to be swapping over to the 2300 supercharger very soon. Looking to hit 600rwhp and should be over 140mph in the 1/2 mile at September's Georgia event with a bit less weight and a set of drag radials!
