Would really like to know what your thoughts are once installed. I have a 2011 crew cab as well.

I'll try to update this as I go along but I'm still getting used to it I guess. I didn't like it too much at first. Everyone says it drives like stock, Circle D even said that, but I think it's a lot looser than stock. It really sucks up the power until it locks or you get your foot into it, to get up in the RPM range. Otherwise you just turn 3000rpm and don't go anywhere. I mean you go somewhere, the truck moves, just doesn't accelerate to 30 very fast. Like I said, I'm still getting used to it. I really hope that I figure it out and end up loving it, I've never driven a "stalled" vehicle before.

I also still have the stock 5.3 catback with headers and ORY and it is embarrassing. Not happy with the raspy sounds at 2500 rpm when I'm leaving a stop light in the city... and with the converter, I'm barely moving and making a hell of a racket. I'm trying to get my exhaust figured out and then I hope to get a better feel for the truck when I'm not embarrassed to hit the Go pedal.

Im looking at full exhaust with a magnaflow bullet, and a cam. Mine will definitely be doing some talking if I go with a stall on this one.

My first loose converter was in a '76 Suburban with a pretty radical 400 smallblock. I hated the feel of it in daily driving, but yeah it did get off the line better with it - it's just that I didn't get much chance to drive like that day to day. It felt to me like part throttle was mostly winding up the rubber bands without accelerating the truck much. So, long way to say I agree with you. Good luck with the rest of the build!

I like how you are the first person that was honest about how the stall drives. Most people are like "3800 stall **** it drives like stock" LOL sure it does. I bet it tow's fine too.

I think what got me was the low first gear of the 6 speed and the 4.11 gears. Before the stall, it took very little throttle and RPM to get the truck up to 30mph and it got there quickly. Just as in the "easy driving" video above, it took about 8-10 seconds in the 2200-2500 RPM drone zone to get to 30mph. I'm positive most people have zero issue with this, but it is a much different experience than before. Like I mentioned, I haven't driven a non-stock converter so I'm still figuring it out. And a better exhaust tone will really help out my experience.

Not calling anyone out here, just more info for guys that haven't experienced a converter before, like me.

I'm guessing that its the weight of the truck making it looser than was expected. In a RCSB it would probably be fine. I ended up getting mine tightened in my 07 and liked it a hell of a lot better afterwards. Before it drove as you describe, lazy as hell until you get into it.
