NNBS specific V6 to V8 Swap
#11
I would like to find a truck that already has a V8 in it, But I came across a truck that is a w/t but still has power mirrors, locks, keyless entry, power windows, carpet, and on star. Only problem is that there is just a little too much room in the engine compartment, if you know what I mean. But that can change
Will keep everyone posted.
*Can any of you NNBS V6 guys get me a few pictures of the intake manifold and y pipe? From what i could see the V6 and V8 Y pipe's look almost identical.*

Refrigeration lines
Fuel lines
radiator/efans
radiator and heater hoses
4L80 crank spacer if new enough to keep OE v6 tranny
or swap bell housing and front pump on existing tranny
v8 transmission dipstick tube
Harness pcm/tcm thats exact year of vehicle to keep gremlins to a minimum
motor mounts.
If you go 6 speed and want to keep tap shift gotta go to uplevel bcm and swap cluster and shift handle and flash for appropriate year model and options close to existing truck.
reflash fuel pump control module for v8 truck
One good complete 07+ 4.8,5.3,6.0 or 6.2 pull out engine or engine and trans combo. Pretty simple and straight forward swap.

We did v6 to 8 swaps in 3 camaros and a hell of a lot of trucks from 1992 to 2006 and I dont do it unless I buy a parts vehicle. We swap every wire every module and every thing works. Piecing it together is never cheaper and gremlins make you hate your vehicle.
