Default new project painting grill

hey guys,
have not posted in a while been real busy with work and picked up second job so figured I would do something while on vacation wont get a chance to do much else after this.
took a before shot of thee grill and front end

grill off before i did any cutting

got the oem inserts cut out ( No turning back now. )

alright got the bottom section smoothed out you can see the difference

top section up close

here is the bottom section up close smoothed out some will have to clean some high and low spots.

alright so my plan is to paint the entire grill red to match the truck and as you can see where the factory inserts where it is black I plan to keep this black and install a mesh insert behind it also thinking either black out line on the bowtie with red center or all black bow tie.
any input or opinions will be nice thank guys.

got some updates been at it color sanding and buffing my life away but the outcome was worth it let me know what you guys think.
first few tries at buffing and polish not good enough in my opinion.

then decided to go at it one more time with color sanding buffing and polish I think it looks tons better I'll let you guys be the judge?

Nice! Have been wanting to do mine also but haven't been bold enough to take the plunge. I've been also thinking of removing the material inside the bow tie and making it the "flowtie" like in the Z/28 due to the intercooler
