Hi I'm looking for some advice I have a 08 silverado 4.8 4x4 with 3.42 gears I'm looking for more power so that i can beat my brother's 5.7 hemi what would be the best mods is it worth to turn it into a 5.3 because the 4.8 is really sluggish

How much power you want?

60's at a minimum if you want to run decent boost on pump gas.

You'll need to upgrade the transmission too, heck the stock trans might not last that long if you went cam/header route.

I'm looking for 100 hp more how much gain would I get from a mild cam and headers

A good cam with some 1 and 3/4th header with a decent tune could maybe get you 50-75hp to the tire. So 100hp to the crank. I don't think I'm out of the ball park here on that guess.
