LC9 5.3 DOD delete: PUSHROD QUESTION
Im researching parts to do the DOD and cam upgrade on my 09 CCSB LC9 5.3. If I dont surface the heads, and install GM MLS 5.3 head gaskets, and install a TSP (non afm) truck cam with (16) LS7 lifters, can I reuse the OEM Pushrods?
Next: Can I used the standard Melling M295 oil pump? The OE oil pump was different to support the DOD but I wont have that anymore.
Thanks in advance!
Ernie

I would call up TSP and ask them. They would know for sure. Just ask to talk to one of their engine experts and they will put you on the line. I have gotten tons of help from them and never a push to order.
For safety I would suggest measuring. It is incredibly easy and only takes seconds to do. You just adjust the tool for zero lash when the valve is closed and then add the amount of desired preload. There is probably a thread on here or ls1tech with the correct preload in it. Can't remember off the top of my head. I have had two TSP cams with under .600 lift and they both used stock length.
You can order comp cams part number CCA-7702-1.
Good luck.

The m295 pump should be fine, while you are there delete/plug the relief valve in the oil pan. Depending on the base circle of the cam you could be able to reuse the stock pushrods, but call tsp and check with them, though on their site they say the truck cams can be used with stock pushrods..
