Depends on engine too... Whether it has vvt and dod, just dod, etc .. Along with demand, one of the guys in parts was telling me the prices will change when a particular part goes out of warranty as well

09 is AFM only and I really don't see them being more than the price of an LS3.... lol. I could price one out but I don't want one so, lol. Hell if they are worth that much I will start buying them up here new and shipping them down to you guys. That said you States people seem to pay way too much for a lot of stuff like used trucks.... used 6 liters.... so hmmm.. maybe.

That's right about what I'm paying, tax included, a bit of a far cry from the 8k they originally quoted me.

Figure 4k for the engine after core, 20 hours at 100 each, that's 2k, about 400 in taxes, misc. fluids, supplies, a new AC compressor belt, and I'm around 7k.

Parting out not an option, I still owe a bit on the truck. It's been there a week, including a weekend. As of yesterday, the engine was supposed to arrive today from being 4 days out.

Did I go the gearhead way out? No, but I used to, and could have provided I had the time.

I also bought a diablosport to turn of AFM immediately. I let you all know how it goes.

I think i had quoted water pump, plugs wires, and all gaskets and some new bolts... Flood vehicle with a seized engine, i also added a couple extra hours for freeing the engine so i could get it out, never knwo what youre getting into with flood vehicles....

Truck is back from the shop, runs great! No more valve train noise on startup, and the DiabloSport 87 tune with firm shift points....Man! the truck feels like it should have from the factory. No more sloppy shifting, quick throttle response, and the truck runs very smooth.

I guess for 7k it should though right?

I would hope the new long block would come with the updated lifters and VLOM. Am I correct in thinking that?

Thought the update was just for the gen v engines, but a reman should come with updated parts if they are available
