Anyone's truck not shut off with the key removed?
I don't have my EFILive cable with me so not able to scan codes. I drove through 4 hours of snow blizzard conditions in my 2011 K1500 5.3 truck with no issues when I was driving. I get to the hotel and find the reverse lights are stuck on. I start the truck thinking the gear position switch isn't made all the way, cycle through all the positions with the trans working correctly. Check engine light is on and the reverse lights are still on with the key removed and the truck stays running. I'm in a hotel with 8" of snow, so I pulled the fuel pump fuse and then disconnected the battery.
Anyone have a similar situation happen? I'm flying out in the morning and leaving my truck at the airport so I really don't care what the damn thing does. I've got 34k miles on the truck and have never had an issue with it. I just wish I had my flashscan cable with me. Oh stock tune and no modifications.

??? Does it act normal after disconnecting the battery and hooking it back up.
After that it's time to take it to a dealer and see what kind of codes it has stored. Can literally be anything on these new trucks if I had to guess it's going to be ignition switch and or BCM related.

Yeah for snow you only got 8'' we got 15'' here sounds like snow got packed in a place it shouldnt and the constant hot wire from batery is making a iginition wire constant hot instead of switched with the key. I had a problem with my efan harness made my truck stay running till it drained fuel in fuel lines. Ended up my power wire was touching my ignition wire and truck wouldnt shut off till ran out of fuel

I would mess with it but it still snowing here in Omaha, and theres around 6-8" on the ground. I'd think the ign relays were sticking, but the dash and all other functions die with the key turned off and removed. It's strange to me that the reverse lights are always on and the damn thing stays running, like the PCM or BCM were bad. The dealer won't do jack until I can get it there, at least that's what I was told by the local Council Bluffs/Omaha service manager. Worst case, I'll take the hotel shuttle to the airport
