Default Just bought me a Silverado.

Well its mainly for my wife buuuut ill prolly be driving it alot...

First post here on the truck site, been on LS1 tech for abit though.
2007 Silverado 5.3 LT Crewcab IBM 4x2 with OEM 20s...

Up on the chopping block is as follows....

CAI

Exhaust ... after watching some videos I cant believe im saying this but i think it really like the sound of the Flowmaster Super 10... so i may be going with that. Also plan on doing LTs in the near future.

Going to get the same guy that tuned my Camaro to do the truck after i get all these minor bolt ons.

Maybe going with a 6" lift on it.

As far as the wheels go going to wrap the oem 20's in either nitto trail grapplers or bfgs. whatever i can get the the best price honestly.

im not going all out like i did with the camaro just gonna build a daily drivien truck with some attitude that can be fun to drive. Maybe some light off roading out here in the arizona desert.

Not bad for $14000

Anyhow, are there any free mods that are avail for this thing that are any different than those on the LS1? Gonna start digging into it soon and want to get as much done as i can without back tracking.

Also, with the exhaust/CAI/tune combo about how much power gain should i expect to see? I'm used to my ol' simple Gen 3 LS1 so this new fangled LY5 with its v4 mode and such is kinda new and im not sure how these motors respond to mods.

Thanks everyone. ill toss up some pics this weekend.

Nice buy and great price!! as far as mods go..Compared to your gen3 ls1 the new 5.3 already has the high flow "243" heads and an 90mm intake/tb superior to the ls6..So you dont have to worry about those..You should see 20-25 rwhp from LT's/exhaust/CAI/Tune

Sounds good.

My main lament over the truck is it insnt a Texas Edition, then again doubt i'd ever see one here in arizona.

Killeen, TX born and raised lol

For right now just been fixing the minor stupid stuff that was wrong with i from the dealer... A price like that def is gonna have its issues but thats to be expected. Took it to the stealership and they said as far as all the mechanical aspects of the truck, all solid. but the minor **** thats fucked up w it are the latch for the upper glove box "seller has it on order already" the cover for the driver side door lock "the little plastic black cover you can touch and move up and down to manually lock it and such" the cover for one of the rear liscense plate lights and the rubber oring is missing from the bottom bulb on the driver side headlight causing condensation...

Also.. the freakin horn didnt work... so i popped open the fuse box to find the little 15 amp fuse just laying there... WTF?

It blows my mind how some people can let such weird minor **** stay wrong with their vehicle for so long....

Ebay Stainless LT headers about $330, Custom tune $250-$300, and you can skip the CAI for now if you wanted. Id rather put the money towards Headers/Tune first, but you can get CAI pretty cheap if ya know where to look and get it all done at the same time.

Nice truck! Yeah headers and a tune will wake it up. Be careful going over 100 with the aluminum drive shaft. They are known to explode
