Default 3 bolt sprocket for VVT cam?

I'm ordering the VVT4 cam from TSP for my L9H and was searching everywhere for info until I got exhausted.

I was curious to know if there is a kit to replace the single bolt with pin cam sprocket with a 3 bolt cam sprocket without deleting the VVT in my truck.

I want to retain the VVT, but would feel more comfortable with a three bolt sprocket.

I'm fairly new to this VVT stuff and would appreciate any info!

Nope, it doesn't work that way. The single cam bolt is the actuator valve for the VVT. I don't have a picture to post, but you'll see it when you have it apart.

That's what I assumed considering I could find no info on that. Thanks for verifying for me! I'll just have to take my chances with the single bolt setup. I'm sure there are plenty people that run high HP applications on it without issue.

Thanks for the pics!! I found a few videos on YouTube that explain exactly how the entire VVT system works. I have a much better understanding now! I will be posting my parts list in a couple of days to get opinions on my first cam swap and valvetrain upgrades. Keep an eye out for me to give me more insight!!

Thanks again!

What were your results? Impressions of the VVT cam in 5.3?
