2007 escalade 14 bolt swap, blown diff again?
hey guys I got a 2007 escalade ext I shattered the 10 bolt, so I swapped a low mile 14bolt 9.5 semi floater.
I'm running 75-140 royal purple,
well I was doin some high speed drifting(70-80mph) on some hwy on/off ramps in the dry...
well I noticed the diff fluid smell pulled over and I have a bit of fluid whipping off the inside of the brake rotor out back, onto the inside of the rim, About 3oz have been lost but it's starting to build up a bit,
I'm getting a bit of noise from the rear axle now,
I'm running spohn solid rear arms with no bushings,
does this sound like a axle rebuild or just a seal?
also what is a 4.10 going to be like if I rebuild it? I swapped in a manual shift t-case so I'm not awd so I can get buy with just rear gears and obviously ditch my gu80 **** box while I'm at it..
also who makes a upgraded axle for this all I can find is yukon factory stow not upgraded ones
if I pay a good shop to replace the locker and do gears and a full rebuild with my own parts what should I be looking at for labor with me pulling the axle out and slapping t on there bench? $$
thanks guys

Why are you running 75-140??? Spec should be 75-90 or 80-90 GL5
No one makes custom axles for the standard 14bolt 9.5 rear end. If it is an AXN hybrid rear end, The only reasonably priced axles were from Dutchmen. I called every one who makes custom axles. The only other shop that claimed they could do it wanted around 800-1000 for a custom set.

I had them make a set for a 2006 Silverado SS rear end.
I have also heard they make the TBSS replacement axles with the tone ring.
Custom Axles by Dutchman Motorsports
TrueTrac should be just fine.

yup looks like the clutch less true track will be my best bet, and I'm getting in touch with Dutchman,
well yesterday I broke my driveshaft sliding around... I knew better than to use greasable u-joints... so I'll be trying to get a good driveshaft at a good price... I think Denny's driveshaft will be my best bet?
any specific company I should use for the bearing install kit for the locker ??

to the OP you should not be sliding that amount of weight around with especially with a C clip rear end....these rears arent meant for that kind of side load
honestly no matter what youll ruin this rear even with upgraded parts, look into a 9" if you want to slide it in to corners otherwise look for a different way of having fun

I sent Dutchmen a spare stock AXN axle shaft and they made me 2 pairs. At the time they were the only one's Doing the TBSS upgrade axles.
At the time Mark Williams salt bath was like 2 inches too short for the heat treat process. I offered to Pay to either modify or replace their equipment so they could Make me some custom axles for the AXN and for the Normal 9.5 big bearing set up. Even offered to buy 10 set of axles up front. They declined.
Oh, and good point about sliding a C-clip style axle sideways. Thats a big no, no.
As you stated, they don't like the Side loading.
