PF52 vs. PF47

When I had my 98 Vortec 5.7l there was a crappy Penzoil filter that was long as hell, I think it was a PZ10. It added about .5 quarts to the volume, does anyone know of another filter for the 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0 like this? When I go to get oil and filters, once in a while I take a few out of the boxes and compare sealing area and threads. Make sure the threaded area is at the same depth from seal to thread start to find a longer higher capacity filter. Just don't want to blow twice or more on a "high performance filter" that is larger. Allot of these things are made by the same companies for different manufacturers specs. As long as it has the anti-drain back feature it seems cool enough for me.

isnt it the 52 and 59 that fit.. the pf47 fits gm's v6's

47 and 52's fit the Vortec 5.0 5.7 4.3 motors. The 46 (old 44) and 59 fit the 4.8 5.3 6.0 motors. The LS1 5.7 takes the 46.

PF59 and 6 quarts of that german Castrol 0W-30 stuff, and it comes to just a little below the full mark.

I used the p46 but yesterday i purchased the Wix 51522 which is the bigger filter.

Yeah, I think WIX makes some of the best filters on the market but you have to go to a good parts store to buy them and they are more expensive than the AC.

Yea wix filters from what i hear are awsome. Yea mine cost $5.89.
