Default PF52 vs. PF47

Quick question about the oil capacity, The 5.3 takes 6 qts right?? Is taht with the Short filter (PF47) or the long filter (PF 52). The PF52 isnt that much bigger but I'm just curious. THANKS!!

So nobody checks the level after an oil change?? I know its probably just a small difference , but w/ the oil consumption problems I would make sure its on the full mark at every oil change.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the PF58 and PF59 our oil filters? Both are the same size, just different threaded hole size?

Sorry, this will be my first oil change in this truck and the jackass at the parts store sold me the wrong filter. I just checked and AC Delco parts site and its PF47 (short) and PF59 (long duraguard). So now I have to return it.

I change mine and it is just a little low using 6 Quarts, I add 8 OZ
puts it to the full mark.

I will try and find the longer filter though, more filter area .. I can't think of a downside for that one.

I switched at 500 miles from the factory 44 to the 59
The 44 was really small
I am always over 6 qts with the 59
More like 6.25
