Have any recent repairs been done that may have caused a slight leak? Like a fuel pump or fuel sender? Maybe something just isn't completely sealed.
If you know someone with a truck like yours, you could always swap cannisters over and see if the code comes up on his/her truck...

I might find a junk yard for that part....if the doner is "young" enough.
I wish I could swap to see if the code comes back, but I have gone weeks at a time w/o the idiot light coming on and then had it come on two-three times in a week.....hit or miss still.

Try a new none locking cap. It could still be your cap because you may have replaced a leaking cap with a locking cap that is not sealing. It is not unusual to read about locking caps that do not seal well.

I have decided to bite the bullet and take it to the dealer so they can pressure check the system propperly....I also have a pully or bearing starting to squeal......Can't pinpoint that one.
Will post again when I have the results.
If anyone still has ideas, keep em coming!

Well, $107 later (w/tran flush). The Mandal GMC dealership in D'Iberville has no reason as to why I am still getting P0442....that and they wouldn't pressure test the system like I asked.....cause they didn't have an active code was their response!
Anyone that is a REAL mechanic and has any ideas, please let me know!!

That's not a bad idea....I will have to wait until my gas tank is on fumes again. I am at about half right now, so that will be sometime this weekend if I am lucky.
