im lost truck is still slow
well I have a 2005 ccsb 5.3L 2wd with 20 inch wheels and tires.
long tubes, u/d pulley, cai, off road y pipe, magnaflow exhaust, 212 218 522 529 114lsa cam, gm blue springs, 7.4 CM pushrods, vette servo, msd wires, ngk tr55 plugs, and a nelson performance tune.
well my problem is the truck still feels slow. I think it needs a stall and maybe a set of heads. but I feel like just saving up for a 6.0L, im lost at what to do from here. please help.

Should be a 3.42 gear... Higher stall converter, 4.10 gears and look at how much your tires/rims weigh.... Im having kinda same issue with my truck at moment considering i cant even get her to break traction half the time... I didnt even think about the fact that when i put the current trans in, i ordered it with about an 1800 stall... Then add the 100-120lbs per tire and wheel and 345hp to rear wheels feels slower than the stock 5.3 was. The 5.3 would turn tires over but the torque curve was actually where it needed to be with the 1800 stall!!! Ive come to learn you kinda want stall to be about 500-1000 rpm over where the power band of the cam starts... So you dont have the lag when you shift into second....

Those gears will kill your performance... Get 4.10's with a converter and then we can re address the issue. If it still feels slow and you don't want to go for some type of boost I have to vote for a 6.0 swap. You will need more cam to really get the most out of heads. A 6.0 with a cam that still maintains manners will **** all over the 5.3. Sad but true.
