Default Diff Cover

Has anyone put an aftermarket diff cover with extra fluid capacity on a Tahoe or Suburban? I see that TA makes a "low profile" cover. Not that it should matter but mine is a 00 with the regular suspension.

I still think the SUV's are slightly tight.

Teh benefit of a girdle like the TA is more so in the added support that it gives to keep all the internal parts from twisting. More fluid capacity is also a good thing, but with the relatively weak 10 bolt axle the added support is much more important.

You may need a few of the SUV guys to chime in on whether or not this will fit your Tahoe or not... something tells me clearance is an issue. Maybe you should crawl under there and see just how much space you have.

Why do you want more fluid in the rear? It takes longer to get up to operating temp.

If its for looks, that cool.

The low profile cover will not clear the panhard bar. I have already tried one on my wife's 2001 Yukon.

No reason in particular........ I know I don't need one. I am changing the fluid and I just like to tinker with stuff. One of those while I am there sort of thing.

Are we talking about the same one?

I've been hesitant to purchase one, i know folks that are lifter or are not dropped they seem to fit, but since I'm on a 3/5 dropped I'm worried

The TA low profile cover that the OP asked about will not fit on any 5 link Tahoe/Suburban etc, lifted or lowered. I don't know anything about the ebay cover that you linked, you'll have to let us know.

Thanks for the info. I was seriously considering the TA.

why would it not fit some lifted applications? a lot of them modify the panhard bar by raising the mount on the axle. this should create plenty of room for a bigger rear diff cover. i know this only applies to a couple of lift kits but its not a 100% thing.

feel like i need to go check mine and see how much room there is. i feel like it should be a good bit of room but who knows.
