My truck has drum rear brakes and no sensors on the axle that I know of. Could the vss on the tail shaft be to blame for this code? The drive shaft popped a couple of months ago, so things could have been jostled around or coated in trans fluid. Not finding much via search. Thanks.

You're certain it's C0055? I see no listing for that code.

What tool gave you that code?

It's an efi live autocal. Prefix for the code was abs. I'm thinking it's got to be the vss, as there's nothing else back there. If it's the abs module deal, i'm out some duckets

C0055 code is the rear wheel speed circuit.

It could be the VSS sensor on the drive shaft, it might need a software update, or it could be as simple as low voltage signal from a week battery.

We need more info on whats happening when you get the code and what truck you have.

Is this a stored code, active code, or pending code???

Does the instrument cluster work correctly???

Are you getting any lights for the code??? Which ones???

What model of truck???

'05 Sierra 5.3 2wd, drum brakes. Don't know if its active or pending. I comes back as soon as I clear it. The cluster and cruise work fine. I have a cel currently due to a slow o2 sensor, but no abs light. The brakes pulsate as if abs were kicking in, and I don't believe my drums and discs are anywhere near that warped if at all.

What are you using to pull the code??? Any chance you have access to a Scanner that can read live data???

Autocal, don't think I can view brake functions with it. I have some new o2 sensors coming in tomorrow, so ill be under there anyway. Check the vss connection/see if its coated in trans fluid.

I need to check my battery voltage when running though. Gauge looks kinda low at all times.

Welp, vss didn't fix it. Didn't get to check the wiring all the way because it got dark. Going to check the voltage too. It's running nice with new o2 sensors and this weather though. Abs seems to function under hard braking still.

any update to your c0055 issue? my truck is having this code pop up too, along with c0035 (left front wheel speed sensor). just wondering if you was able to pin point the problem.
