Default brake lines

Does anyone know when , if ever,Chevy upgraded their steel brake lines to prevent the rust problem? Reason I ask is that my son is looking for a 1500HD or 2500HD and I would like to avoid doing another brake line replacement job.

If you are lucky someone already replaced the lines with the black coating already on them. Any of the new brake lines that you can buy for the GMT-800's from AC delco come with the black coating on them to prevent rust.

All GMT-900's got the black brake lines from the factory to stop this problem.
